Amy Roeder, Penobscot Theatre Company’s director of education, who formerly trained and performed with The Second City. Amy fell in love with Maine while performing with ImprovAcadia and relocated in 2014. She was featured on Penobscot Theatre Company’s mainstage in Doctor Cerberus and August: Osage County. Earlier regional credits include: A Christmas Carol (Drury Lane Oakbrook), Second City 2: Less Pride, More Pork (Cincinnati Playhouse), Sex and the Second City (Alliance Theatre & Denver Center for the Performing Arts), The Second City’s History of Chicago (UP Comedy Club), Miracle at 1280 Peachtree St. (Alliance Theatre), Peach Drop, Stop and Roll (Alliance Theatre), and Too Busy to Hate, Too Hard to Commute (Alliance Theatre). Amy holds her BFA from the University of Evansville, her MFA from the University of Georgia; and she is a certified Michael Chekhov Technique teacher.
Brian Michael of New York City, who is currently starring in Duck Hunter Shoots Angel at Penobscot Theatre Company. Brian studied filmmaking and theatre at Kent State University and trained as an actor with Terry Knickerbocker at the William Esper Studio. Brian has performed sketch comedy and improv most recently as a member of Gotham City Improv in shows at UCB East, The P.I.T. and The Broadway Comedy Club. His Off-Broadway credits include Women Are Crazy Because Men Are A**holes by Brad T. Gottfred and America the Beautiful (Love Creek Productions). He has also appeared in episodes of HBO’s Girls, CBS’s Person of Interest and Law & Order: SVU; and in the feature film Tracers. www.thebrianmichael.com
Jen Shepard studied improvisational comedy in Chicago at The iO Theater, The Annoyance Theatre and The Playground before moving to Maine in 2004 to open ImprovAcadia with her husband, musical improviser extraordinaire, Larrance Fingerhut. Jen has performed sketch and improv comedy all over the world with The Second City on Norwegian Cruise Lines. This winter she remained in Maine to teach at College of the Atlantic and perform at Penobscot Theatre Company (It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play and Hair Frenzy. http://www.improvacadia.com
Dennis Price, founder and director of Capital City Improv. Having studied in Chicago with ImprovOlympic (currently The iO Theater) and The Second City, Dennis has been performing for more than 15 years, most recently in the Augusta area and during the summer at ImprovAcadia in Bar Harbor. He also teaches theater and drama at Winthrop High School. Dennis’s acting credits include Penobscot Theatre Company’s productions of The Crucible (2004) and A Christmas Carol (2004, 2005). www.capitalcityimprov.com
Lizz Mathews, who has been performing with ImprovAcadia and Capital City Improv and teaching improv at Penobscot Theatre Company since moving from Michigan to Maine in 2014. She also leads the company’s coached ensemble, B.I.G.
Larrance Fingerhut will provide musical accompaniment during the cabaret.

About Amy Roeder

Director of Education – Amy Roeder is pleased to be joining the staff at PTC. Amy received her BFA in theatre from the University of Evansville and her Master of Fine Arts in acting from The University of Georgia. She recently relocated to Bangor from Chicago where she taught and performed with famed comedy institution The Second City. Local audiences may have seen her onstage with Improv Acadia in Bar Harbor where she has been a company member since 2005. Amy has performed all over the country including at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park and with the Improv Asylum in Boston. In addition to teaching acting and improvisation classes all over the world, Amy is also designs and facilitates workshops in improvisational techniques for businesses. Amy hates writing in the third person.
