Penobscot Theatre Comany to host Maine Arts Commission Event.

Maine Arts Commission Workshop

“The State of the Arts: Bangor and Beyond”

presented at the historic Bangor Opera House, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, March 21

Continuing the great partnerships blossoming between the Maine Arts Commission and arts groups across the state, we are working with Penobscot Theatre Company and area Bangor Arts organizations to present a workshop at 10:00 am on March 21 at the historic Bangor Opera House, located in downtown, Bangor.

The workshop is aimed at arts enthusiasts in the greater Bangor region and will provide attendees with a great mix of information and professional development. The biggest factor of course is that this two-hour workshop is absolutely free to everyone wishing to attend.

While enjoying the comfort of the Penobscot Theatre’s seating, attendees will hear about new and exciting initiatives happening in the Bangor region, and around the state. The new Maine Arts Commission Executive Director, Julie Richard, will discuss what the agency is working on and the plans for the coming year.

Then attendees will hear from the agency’s Senior Grant Director Kathy Ann Shaw. She will run down the Maine Arts Commission’s current grant programs stopping to focus of those that may be particular interest to attendees. She will also provide those all-important insights into grant writing and take questions from the audience. If there is anything you have been unclear on, or if you have some ways in which we can do things better, then this is your chance.

Finishing the program will be Marcie Bramucci, Managing Director, Penobscot Theatre Company and Sarah S. P. McCarthy, Development Director, Bangor Symphony. These presenters will talk about Maine Arts Commission grants in action and the activities of Bangor Arts; the arts organization serving the Bangor region. There is no need to register for this workshop but if you do have questions please contact Kathy Ann Shaw at 207/287-2750 or kathy.shaw@maine.gov.
