Penobscot Theatre Opens Bangor Opera House for Live Streaming of Presidential Election and Potluck Dinner

Penobscot Theatre Company will open the Bangor Opera House for live streaming of the presidential election on November 6th from 5pm – midnight.

The theatre company will project the live stream on its movie screen and invites community members to stop in and watch the results as they unfold. Artistic Director Bari Newport says, “I received feedback that some folks didn’t want to be alone on election night. As a theatre is historically the platform for passionate community dialogue, I thought it only natural to open the Opera House for the election.”

There is no charge to attend the public election viewing, however a $5 donation to the theatre is recommended to cover overhead. Those attending are welcome to bring pot-luck dishes. The theatre will provide plates, utensils and drinkware. All potluck dishes should be labeled with the name and phone number of the contributor.
