Penobscot Theatre Announces 2012-13 Touring Show!

PTC’s 2010 tour “Secret Life of Girls”

Penobscot Theatre is thrilled to be partnering with Acadia Hospital to present the touring outreach production of I Am the Brother of Dragons.  A play with an important message by Gillette Elvgren, I Am the Brother of Dragons explores the family dynamic and how it is impacted by one member’s addiction to drugs.  With its fast-pace and theatrical devices, this play is sure to engage students in an interesting and exciting way.  Following each show, clinicians from Acadia Hospital will facilitate a discussion about the themes in I Am the Brother of Dragons as well as answer any questions students might have relating to substance abuse.  The cast will also be available to participate in the question and answer session.  With the recent surge of prescription drug abuse and the “bath salts” crisis, I Am the Brother of Dragons, addresses an important issue facing teenage youth today.  Penobscot Theatre and Acadia Hospital invite you to participate in this important event.

Tours will become available for booking from October 15th throughout the month of May.  Please contact Jasmine Ireland, (Director of Education and Outreach), at jasmine@penobscottheatre.org or 947-6618 ext. 104 to schedule your reservation.
